Day 06 Lan Yue Valley

After we returned to Zhongdian from Meili Xue Shan, we visited three attractions around Zhongdian - Shi Ka Xue Shan, Potatso National Park and Gedan Songzhangling Monastery. The map below shows the location of these attractions.

The Shi Ka Xue Shan - Lan Yue Valley is a relatively new attraction in Zhongdian. Shi Ka Xue Shan is a mountain of about 4500m west of Zhongdian and can be seen from Zhong Dian and surrondings.

A cable car lift carries passengers from the valley floor up the craggy face of Shi Ka. Around the station at the top are some boardwalks. One can also walk along the mountain slopes. When the weather is good, there is a 360 degree panaoramic view of the high mountains in the region, including the Meili Xue Shan. Unfortunately when we are there it was as usual, cloudy.

Here is a link to the blog of Roland Franks, who had also visited the Shi Ka Xue Shan and also luckier than me to be blessed with good weather. http://youcanrollarolof.blogspot.com/2008/01/shi-ka-xue-shan-foothills-of-himalayas.html
